This year we are also supporting our close friends from the West Midlands.
Tragically, Mark Bartlett died of a brain tumour at the age of 47,
leaving a widow, a 10 yr old daughter and his family devastated
and in his memory we want to raise money for some equipment
for the ward at Russells Hall Hospital (Dudley) that cared so
lovingly for him during his final weeks.
Snoopies and friends, for some very strange and twisted reason,
(we are sure there are easier ways!!) have decided to enter 2 cars
in the SCALLY RALLY of IRELAND challenge, to raise money and
awareness for the two causes.
The first challenge was to meet the criteria for Rule number one:
Buy a car, with a receipt for under £100!!
Not only one car but two!!!
Success!!
We have a Rover 400 (£100) and a Nissan Primera (£50).
The Rover will be "dressed" as a dog, spookily called "Rover" and the Nissan, a cat called "Nissy"!!!.
Both cars will be covered in Dog and Cat PAW PRINTS, (generously supplied by ESIGN, Colchester) which can be purchased as part or our sponsorship package. There will be 4 large paws on each car which will carry the logo on any supporting Company (minimum of £250) and smaller logos (minimum of £1) which can be written on.
There will be 4 in each car and all will be in some form of fancy dress! (not everyone is decided at this time)
Setting off from Colchester & Stourbridge the TWO Snoopies cars will cross the water ready to embark on a Titanic Enduro Run of over 1,000 Miles around Ireland on the 16th October 2009.
We will set off from the Titanic Quarter in Belfast, where the great ship was built, to Cork where the last passengers boarded for the fateful maiden voyage across the Atlantic, including Irelands most northern point, Malin Head and it’s most southern point, Mizen Head.
The route follows the northern, western and part of the southern coasts of Ireland.
We will be driving on some of the most scenic roads in Europe and most importantly passing over many of Ireland’s famous Rally Stages, from Atlantic Drive in the North to the famous Tim Healy pass in the Kerry Mount
On the 15th October we travel to Belfast via ferry to be ready for evening registration and a pre-rally meet.
Then the fun and potential disasters start!!!!!
