Snoopies are thrilled that the Salon has been selected by the makers of  SKY TVs "Pineapple Dance Studios", to shoot the title sequence for SKY TVs new 8 part series "DOGUMENTARY"

On Monday 27th September 2010,  the Salon was taken over for the day by PULSE FILMS.
The Salon was part emptied, to give the film crew more space to manouvre and work with the dogs that spent the day with us.

Richard Curtis, the renouned dog trainer (2 times Crufts freestyle champion) brought along several dogs including Whizz, Pogo, Disco and Betty and gave us an insight into why he has had so much success.

When Chris, the director, arrived and set eyes on Minnie, the Snoopies Chihuahua, he instantly decided that she should be involved in the title sequence. It didn't take her long to get into the swing of this acting lark and was quickly seen doing the "luvvy" thing with Richard's Chihuahua, Betty and went from being starstruck to putting Rufus, the Pyrenean Mountain Dog, firmly under her paw!

The day moved along very quickly as we were kept entertained by the dogs and fascinated by the process of puttiing the sequence together.
The dogs behaved impeccably throughout the day and it was a real pleasure spending the day with some great people.
We are all looking forward to seeing the results of the days filming and Minnie's screen debut, when "DOGUMENTARY" is screened later in the Autumn.
We will let you all know when we have news of the screening dates and in the meantime there is a little more information about the show in the press release below.

From the makers of Pineapple Dance Studios comes a brand new documentary/comedy which tackles the wonderful world of man’s best friend, from the dogs themselves to the humans who are mad for mutts.

The brains behind Sky 1 HD’s runaway success of 2010 are turning their attention from prima donnas to prima pooches.

The brand new observational documentary series is set to feature everything from dog grooming salons to dog day care centres, dog whisperers to dog agility competitions where cameras will follow both the people who work there and those who bring their dogs in.

Viewers will get to know the salon owners, the canine couturiers and the owners - but the stars of this show will be the dogs themselves for one simple reason: All thedogs will talk to each other.

Scripted and voiced by up-and-coming comedians, the dogs’ personalities will be set against that of their owners’ and will include characters such as the Russian billionaire’s ‘mafia’ Blood Hound, a city-boy’s posh Cocker Spaniel, a builder’s camp Pit Bull and a therapist’s neurotic Poodle.

CeliaTaylor, Commissioning Editor, Factual and Features, Sky 1 HD,Sky1, 2 and 3 commented: “As a nation of dog obsessives, this series will be a funny, woof-tastic treat for us all. It’s exciting and brilliant to keep pushing the boundaries of observational documentary making for Sky 1 HD and I hope that people love it as much as they did Pineapple Dance Studios.”

Dogumentary is executive produced for Pulse Films by Jonathan Stadlen, Series Directed by Hannah Springham and Series Produced by Tamsin Dodgson.
